The Chao Pinhole® Surgical Technique (PST) was invented and patented by John Chao, D.D.S. This is a scalpel-free, suture-free procedure for correcting gum recession. Through a small hole made by a needle, Dr. Bolding will use a specially designed instruments to gently loosen the gum tissue and glide it over the receded part of the tooth. Most patients can expect minimal pain, swelling and bleeding since there is no cutting or stitching involved.
Patients will also be pleasantly surprised by the cosmetic improvement after this procedure as exposed tooth roots will no longer be visible and gum tissue will be recontoured to be more aesthetically appealing.
Gum recession is the loss of gum tissue along the gumline that can occur as a result of
