Oral Hygiene Instruction

Oral Hygiene Instruction is usually given at each of our patient’s visits, whether it is refreshing the flossing techniques, brushing instructions, or showing our patients the advantages of a power brush or WaterPik Flosser.

Good oral hygiene at home is essential to help your mouth in optimal oral health.

It is best to brush at least twice a day for a minimum of 2 minutes to remove dental plaque and other debris from your teeth and to use some form of “between the teeth” cleaning.

We strongly recommend the use of a power brush, do not forget to brush your tongue or use a tongue scrapper.

Floss your teeth by cleaning both sides of each tooth by pressing to each side forming a letter “C” and moving the floss us and down and/or use a WaterPik or an AirFlosser, these are especially helpful for patients with orthodontic bands or fixed bridges.
